B.1.2 Introduction

An XML Schema defines the syntax of an XML tagset using an XML-based grammar as specified in 2.[SCHEMA].

The X3D Schema has sufficient expressive power to:

express scenes that may include any or all aspects of the functionality defined in ISO/IEC 19775 (see 2.[I19775]).
validate correct naming and usage of elements (i.e., X3D nodes)
identify correct naming of corresponding attributes (i.e., X3D fields)
validate correct types and ranges of attribute values (i.e.,

The X3D DTD does not have sufficient expressive power to selectively validate content according to Interchange, Immersive or Full profiles.
